Odysses

Odysseus is the protagonist in the book. He is the king of west Ithaca. He used to join Trojan War. I think he is a great-hearted and wisdom hero. In chapter 2, when he knew he would be released, his mentality was complicated. He questioned, but he still wanted to get back home. He told the goddess that he had no intention to yield to her wish. He continued came up with more difficult problem that if the goddess could not promise to him, it would not be a disaster. This showed his wisdom because he wanted to make sure the truth of the message. In chapter 5, he said he still missed his homeland and wanted to get back. He would be fearless, there was a steadfast heart. He had suffered lot of dangers and miseries on sea and battlefield. I felt he is a hero and has a firm belief.

“But still I wish, each and every day to get back home, to see the day when I return. And so, even if out there on the wine-dark sea some god breaks me apart, I will go on—the heart here in my chest is quite prepared to bear affliction.”
